May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight, LORD
my Rock and my Redeemer.
Have you ever heard someone say “I hurt from head to toe?” There are times in our life when we may all feel
There was a man many years ago whom I can only imagine the intensity of the pain he must have felt throughout his entire body. He was severely beaten with a whip made of leather straps and embedded with metal. A crown made of thorns was placed on his head and driven deep into his brow as he was repeatedly hit on his head with a reed staff. He was spit on and ridiculed. His hands and feet where nailed to a cross where he hung for hours feeling as though God had abandoned him. Yet all the while feeling only compassion and forgiveness for those who had put him there. Mark 15:15-20
Sometimes when we are hurting or going through the storms of life, its easy to forget who it was that actually carried the most pain and the heaviest cross of all, His name was Jesus and He did it for you.
He was despised and rejected-a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrow that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sin! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Isaiah 53:3-5 (NLT)
For this is how much God loved the world-He gave His one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it. John 3:16-18 (TPT)
