May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight, LORD
my Rock and my Redeemer.
"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5
Some of us haven’t seen morning for a long time. We’re still stuck somewhere between darkness and twilight.
So where is the Joy?
During the hardest journeys of my life there are some passages of the bible I have not liked hearing! I only wanted to make it through the hardships quickly and survive the storm. "When troubles come your way consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow."
James 1:1-3 When I finally realized what this passage was saying I began to grow in the journey. I now know God has a purpose and a plan for everything that happens in my life.
But how can you have joy when the storm is raging all around you?
Joy is in knowing He’s got you and praising him for it. Joy is in walking in the peace of his love. Joy is keeping your eyes on him so you can walk above the circumstances of life and not be overtaken by them.
"He gives strength to the weary and increases power to the weak. Even youth grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:29-31
God’s love does not exempt us from trials but sees us through them with peace.
"After you have suffered a little while he himself will restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."1 Peter 5:10
God's love and grace that comes upon our lives is the joy that comes in the morning.
"When times are good, be happy but when times are bad, consider God has made one as well as the other". Ecclesiastes 7:14
"The Lord is close to the broken hearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalms 34:18
You were never meant to carry that load so "cast all your cares on him for he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
