May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight, LORD
my Rock and my Redeemer.
Trials- we all have them. No matter who you are or what walk of life you come from, no one is immune.
Trials can cause all kinds of emotion; Fear, regret, and pity, just to name a few. But how do you make it through?
How can you change the way you look at things and the way you come out on the other side?
Jesus said to cast all our cares on him because he cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 For many of us this is easier said than done. How can you just do that? First of all you need to really know in your heart that he cares for you and accept his love for you. He paid a high price for you. John 3:16 If you make God your refuge then no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near you. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. Psalms 91:9-12
There was a king who sent horses, chariots, and a strong army in the night to surround the city where Elisha and his assistant were staying. When the assistant got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh my Lord, What shall we do?” the assistant asked. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed “Oh Lord open his eyes so he can see.” Then the Lord opened the assistant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:14-17
We are told to remember our leaders, who spoke the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. If Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:7-8) then is not the God of Elisha the same God we serve today? Is Elisha not one of the leaders we are to remember and imitate his faith? There are angels all around us. So when you think about an army of angels all around you ready to fight for you, what do you have to fear? For if God is for you who can be against you? Romans 8:31
I pray that as you read this, your eyes will be open and your heart may receive God’s love for you. You need not fear. God has engraved you on the palms of his hands, so that he can never forget you; the scars in his hands are always before his eyes as a reminder of his love for you. Isaiah 49:16
