May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight, LORD
my Rock and my Redeemer.
As I contemplate what I should write about, I keep seeing the nail scarred hands of Jesus. I think of the pain and suffering, (of the nails that left the cleft in the palm of His hands) I wonder how could a man that did no wrong, be beaten, abused, spit on, hung on a cross, and be sealed in a tomb, have so much love that He would say to the Father, “forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34 (NLT)
We have all been hurt or offended by someone. Many of us have a hard time forgiving. But even after we have forgiven we sometimes put a wall up, because no one is ever going to hurt us again! After all, our pain is apparently much worse, than the price Jesus paid when He hung on the cross for us. Really???
When I envision His nail scarred hands I am reminded that He hides us in the cleft of the rock which is right in the palm of His hand, where the nails broke flesh and His blood was shed. “I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” Isaiah 49:16 (NIV)
“I have told you these things, so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart! Because I have over come the world.” John 16:33 (NLT)
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.” Psalm 18:2 (NLT)
One touch from the nail scarred hand can change your life.
