As I begin my venture thru the Bible this year. I am reminded of the serpent who deceived Eve and Adam in the garden. Genesis 3:1-14
Eating of the tree in the garden was not where the fall of man began. Believing the lie was where the fall of man began. Eating of the tree was an act of disobedience that took place after the lie was believed. Then came shame, blame placing, jealousy, murder, and the list goes on.
Jesus went to Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John the Baptist. After his baptism when Jesus was coming up out of the water, the heavens were open and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on Jesus. A voice that came from heaven said, "This is my beloved son in him I am well pleased." Matthew 3:13-17 (Jesus Identity had already been established.)
Yet right after that Jesus went into the wilderness to fast and pray for 40 days and 40 nights. During that time the devil came and said to him "If you are the son of God" Matthew 4:1-11
(trying to get Jesus to question his identity and believe a lie.) But the spirit of God had just declared when Jesus was baptized, that Jesus was the Son of God.
I believe the spirit of lies is the root of all sin.
The devil's greatest fear is that you know your identity.
When you accepted Christ as your savior, you became a child of God. Nothing or no one can take that away from you! You are His!!! So stop believing the lies in your mind of what the world says about you and start believing what the word of God says about you.
If God is for you who can be against you? Romans 8:31
You can do all things thru Christ who strengthens you. Philippians 4:13
The only one keeping you from your destiny is you.
The voices you hear the loudest are the ones in your head.
Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8
Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions, your actions become your values, and your values become your destiny. Mahatma Gandhi
