The place where Jesus was crucified, Golgotha, is known as the place of the skull. Matthew 27:33 When I think about a skull, I think about my head and all the thoughts that go through it. I believe there are some of us who have remained at the place of the skull in our thinking (the place where Jesus was crucified). We know He loved us enough to die a horrible death on a cross for us. But we have never gone to the tomb to find that he has risen from death to life. I don’t believe we have to stay at the place where He died, although we must always remember the sacrifice He paid for us. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead He said to them “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” John 11:1-44 Some of us are still walking around with grave (mourning) clothes on. I believe that if we continue to stay at the place of the skull in our thought life we will never walk in the perfect plan of God for our life. We must allow Him to take the baggage and remove the grave clothes of our thinking so that we can live with the resurrected Savior in our minds as well as in our hearts. For He tells us: “Be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2 He didn’t only die a horrible death for you but He rose again that you might have life and have it more abundantly. John10:10 The enemy would desire to keep you at the place of the skull in your thought life. But God would desire that you have an overflowing full life in Him. We must begin to pray for a shifting of the mindset, that God would be glorified in all we think, feel, say and do so that we will represent Him well to the world.
